Problem sets, released one per Q&A session. Each is scored on completeness, not correctness; AI and any other source is permitted, and you are asked to name what you used. Maximum six pages.

• Problem Set 1 — due Tuesday 8 September — the integers, ℤₙ, binary structures, plane isometries, the group axioms
• Problem Set 2 — due Tuesday 29 September — subgroups, cyclic groups, order-index, dihedral, Cayley’s Thm.
• Problem Set 3 — due Tuesday 27 October — cosets, order-index; homomorphisms: kernels and images; normal subgroups and quotient groups; the first isomorphism theorem
